Summary

Summary

Revenues & Benefits: Database Conversion - Consultancy

Key Project Stages

  1. Data extract: Extract relevant data from legacy systems and load these into Actian Ingres Database.
  2. Data mapping specification: Using the data extract, MRI Conversion Consultants will create a mapping specification document that will show the data mapping from the legacy source database to the MRI Revenues & Benefits destination database. The mapping specification document will form the basis for the migration code.
  3. Test migration delivery: Once the mapping is agreed the MRI Conversion team will create code for the migration process, which will be used to run the test migrations. MRI will offer Business Consultancy assistance during the UAT process to validate and reconcile the data migration and test functional areas of the application. MRI Conversion team will fix any issues raised during this stage or recommend fixes needed at the source system.
  4. Live migration: Following a successful testing phase (UAT signed off), the legacy Live database extract will be taken, and the migration scripts will be run against this database to form the new MRI Revenues & Benefits system.
  5. Post Live Support: MRI will provide ongoing support to address any post-migration issues and ensure system stability.

Key Considerations

  • System Start Date (SSD) Determination: The customer needs to decide on SSD for consistency and ease of validation and reconciliation.
  • Interfaces and Integration: Potential impact to interface and integration because of reference changes and data merge.
  • Data Security: Ensure that all data transfer and migration processes comply with data protection regulations.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout the cleansing process.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
  • Support: Provide ongoing support to address any queries or problems related to the migrated data.
